Having signed Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero and Emerson Royal within the ongoing transfer window, the Catalan giants Barcelona have indicated keen interest in signing Arsenal’s captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang according to reports from Sky Sports in England.
According to the same News body, the Spanish side has brought a player swap offer on the table for Arsenal and will be keen to follow through with the deal if the English side obliges to their proposal.
29 year old Brazilian International Philippe Coutinho have been reported to be the player that the Spanish club are ready to hand over to the Arsenal, if they are willing to let Pierre Aubameyang join them within the ongoing transfer.
Below are 3 things to know about Coutinho ahead of what looks like a possible switch from Barcelona to Arsenal.
1. He was once a Premier League player: The 29 year old player will not be a new person to the League upon his arrival to the London club if the deal happens, this is because the Brazilian International has played for Liverpool in the League between 2012 and 2018 when he completed his move to the Spanish side. If the player joins Arsenal, he will be rejoining a league in which he announced himself to the world, something that may work out for him since he is on a journey of rediscovering his individual best within the recently begun season.
2. He is a creative midfielder: One of the many positions that the player can play in is the attacking midfield position otherwise known as the “creative midfield”. He loves to get the ball, try some movements on the ball while getting his fellow team mates into their positions then releases the ball to the best placed in order for them to score. The player joining Arsenal will create an avenue for the club to have a natural creative player within their team.
3. He is a Champions League winner: The player who is been presented to Arsenal according to report is Champions League decorated winner, he was one of the player who lifted the trophy in the 2019/20 football season with Bayern Munich. The 29 year old has a lot of experience as well a rich trophy collection which makes him one of the players whom any club should be on the lookout for within the ongoing transfer window.
From what we now know, if Arsenal would oblige to letting their 32-year-old Gabon International Aubameyang join the Spaniards, they will in return be receiving the 29-year-old attacking midfielder who can turn their fortune within the 2021/22 season into a good one following their poor start to the season.
What do you think concerning this proposed player swap deal, should Arsenal accept the deal and sign Philippe Coutinho?
