Check out why this Sangoma caused a stir on social media

A sangoma is a Zulu healer who analyzes, prescribes, and performs rites to treat a person physically, psychologically, emotionally, or spiritually.

Sangomas, also called inyangas, are shamans, healers, priests, and prophets who have long served Bantu communities, especially in rural Southern Africa.

Many sangomas/n’angas use amulets and beadwork to identify themselves and their job or for protection. They make beadwork for anyone who needs spiritual help.

The Sangoma may wear straps fashioned from initiation goatskin.

A photo of a Sangoma with bodybuilder-like muscles made a buzz on social media.
