Cristiano Ronaldo has been left out of Manchester United’s squad to face Aston Villa due to a muscle strain, according to interim manager Ralf Rangnick.
The Red Devils meet Steven Gerrard’s side in the FA Cup third round on Monday, and Ronaldo is one of the noteworthy absentees.
Phil Jones is also out with a minor calf strain after a solid performance against Wolves in the Premier League last week.
Victor Lindelof is fit to return in defence with the reinstated Diogo Dalot, Fred is chosen to Nemanja Matic in midfield, and Bruno Fernandes makes his first start after returning from suspension.
Marcus Rashford is also chosen over Jadon Sancho, who is another player who has been left out of the group.
