Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has returned to social media in full force to celebrate herself. Congratulation messages for the actress from “Omo Ghetto Saga,” who was invited to the Academy Awards, have been pouring in ever since yesterday.
In a formal statement, Funke Akindele expressed his joy at being invited to attend the Academy Awards.
“It is such a big issue,” she said.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had extended invites to 397 famous creators and executives to join the organization in 2022. Membership was based on professional qualifications, and representation, inclusion, and equity were ongoing objectives. This year’s class of invitees included 71 Oscar nominations and 15 winners.
Among the 397 people invited to participate in the Oscars as voting members for the nominees and eventual winners were Funke Akindele, Blessing Egbe (director, producer, and writer), Daniel K. Daniel (actor), and Newton Aduaka (movie practitioner and filmmaker), a Nigerian-born individual who now resides in Europe.
