An angry married NYSC member who was denied permission to stay in the Lagos Orientation camp took to Facebook to express her disappointment.

Aboh Victoria Otsanya said she and other married women were not permitted to stay in camp. She was assigned to Lagos State for the required one-year National Service and was scheduled to participate in a 3-week orientation program.

She claimed that married women were not allowed to stay at the orientation camp in Iyana Ipaja, regardless of whether they were pregnant or nursing a child.

Married women are not permitted to camp, whether pregnant or not, nor are they permitted to bring their nursing babies with them.

She recently kicked a female corps member out of the orientation camp in Amada for refusing to wear khaki pants, according to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Gombe State.

The corps member “blatantly refused to wear the khaki trouser and instead chose to wear a khaki skirt,” according to a statement made by the state coordinator on Friday, March 25.

According to the terms of the NYSC Bye-laws, she was brought before the camp court, found guilty, and then decamped. Added Imoni.
