The history of Nigerian hip-hop isn’t complete until M.I. Abaga, a veteran rapper who just released his long-awaited sixth studio album today called “The Guy.”
The American rapper Nas, Olamide, Phyno, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, Wande Coal, Duncan Mighty, The Cavemen, BNXN, Lord Vino, Chillz, Ossi Grace, and Tomi Owo all make guest appearances on the 12 rock-hard tracks on the new project.
I was glad for all the love and support from his fans over the years. He thanked everyone for riding with him. “#TheGuyAlbum is out now!” He also said that he wanted the album to be number one. “My prayer is that this album goes to number one and gives birth to a number one single!”
When M.I. changed his name to “The Guy” to raise the stakes for his sixth studio album, he said he did it because of how solid “The Guy” was and how he wanted it to be used. Without a doubt, this body of work is as hard as M.I. said it would be.
When it comes out at midnight on Friday, August 19, 2022, when most Nigerians are asleep or getting ready for bed, “The Guy” will keep those who buy it early awake so they can focus on and understand the message behind the hot collection. When people who were sleeping wake up in the morning, “The Guy” will be their breakfast and get them ready for the weekend.
