Facebook, as well as its appendages Instagram and Whatsapp, have all been shut off. As a result, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg lost $5.9 billion in one hour, putting him in sixth place among the world’s richest people.
The unexpected shutdown seems to have harmed market confidence. This would not be the first time the system has shut down unexpectedly, as it did in 2014 and 2008 for 14 and 24 hours, respectively.
People flocked to Twitter after the closure to see if they were alone or if it was a widespread problem.

The problem has been resolved, as all three apps are now operational, bringing the world out of some type of “social media abyss,” with the majority of users being Nigerians who clearly spend a significant amount of time on these applications for business or pleasure.
